Students took part in a week long series of events under the umbrella ‘New Year New Challenges’. Lectures and workshops were delivered by Jane Hunt, Jim Cregan (Jimmy’s Iced Coffee), Tom Harman and George Bell (Creative Directors at TMW), and Marc Ortmans. On the final day, some of the course alumni formed a panel to answer questions on employability. It was clear that these confident young people had readily adjusted to the creative industries habitus, even in a few short months. The transformation was palpable and already they were passing on important advice on how to move on from academic study. This has important implications for my study and I intend to keep in touch with the panel as the research methodology emerges.
